Right - now I'm posting this because a lot of threads have been popping up lately and a lot of you are obviously angry because a particular member of the community was banned. These threads have generally consisted of immature posts and spam in most cases, rather than sensible discussion or debate and so they have been locked in most cases. Sure, it may have been a better idea to just delete the posts that are considered immature/spam - but then no doubt those people would complain that the admins are just getting trigger happy on the delete button and that they deserve the right to free speech even if it is spam (what I'm saying is, that we can't take action without somebody getting upset over it).

Now the person you're all arguing over was banned for a reason. We didn't ban him because of difference or personal feelings towards him - we banned him because he broke the rules on more than one occasion. The person in particular had been banned more than once and we have given him numerous chances to come back to the community. I'm not saying that he doesn't deserve another chance - what I'm saying is that the ban in place is completely justified whether he deserves another chance to come back or not.

At the end of the day, whether this person or any other person is banned or unbanned is the decision of the admins. It's not a case of one admin making a decision - all decisions are agreed on by ALL the admins. That's why we have those editor/admin forums which you can't get in to.

Secondly, I'm all for you expressing your opinions. What I'm not for is posting threads and posts in the forum of which are sometimes aggressive and have been directed towards particular admins in the past. Everybody has an opinion on this matter, and we're here to make a decision which we feel is best for the site. Sure this person may deserve another chance, but can we guarantee to all the users that we arn't going to have those problems we had in the past? I don't know - that's what we need to discuss.

As a final word - I'd appreciate if from now on you don't create any more threads regarding this issue. I'm only going to lock those threads if they get out of control or if they're just full of spam, but I'd just appreciate if you didn't create those types of threads from now on. We arn't censoring you - we've said multiple times that you can send any admin a private message regarding the matter. Creating multiple threads about the issue will not get this person unbanned.

The admins often discuss issues such as this and at the end of the day, our decision is final. Sure we'll take opinions and input from you guys as you're the ones who run this community. At the end of the day we're just moderators and want to make this website a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone.

If you have any issues regarding this post or anything else, send me a DC mail or add me to MSN: flava@live.com.
I have no doubt that something I've said in this post is going to piss some of you guys off because you just don't like what we do. Oh and this post is from me alone - none of the other admins gave their opinions to this thread so it could very well be that they have a different opinion.

I'll also make sure that all of the admins discuss this issue in a few days time so that we can sort this out properly. Thank you, and I hope you all understand what we're trying to do.
