It's a video of Cybernoid 2 on the Commodore 64.
I own the Amstrad cpc version and though that had good music until i heard this. Top stuff.

If you disagree please show me a better piece of 8 bit music.

Good stuff :---).

http://www.sweb.cz/jpecher/music.htm
My favourite: Storm, Draconus, Jet Set Willy, International Karate.

But this needs for example Winamp plugin (works in Winamp 2.95 for sure... place DLL into Winamp/Plugin directory):

Everything from David Whittaker or Rob Hubbard rules :---).

nice song
I like these notes very fastly played to make a chord. this method was used a lot when sound chips had only 3 or 4 sound channels

"Fantastic Adventures of Dizzy"'s sound track is ear grating, yet surprisingly fun to listen to

Either way, some of my favorite 8-bit music has to be:
Jounrney to Silius (Edit: Forgot the link, doh!) http://youtube.com/watch?v=O4Usk2CcXCE
The game itself was just decent, but the music was great.

That and some others, including:
Mega Man 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 (yes, all of them)
Downtown Special (Kunio-kun no jidaigeki dayo zenin shuugou: Downtown Special, to be creepily precise.)
Gun.Smoke (But I'm baised since they were the first NES sounds I remember)
As well as many others, but those are some of the great ones.

Oh, and Cybernoid 2 had good music
Imma gonna go find it fer download now!

I recall a Nes game with Fantastic music (besides Journey to silius which i have heard before )

A japanese game called Mr. Gimmick!

because it was one of the rare games that came with an additional soundchip inside the cart allowing some of the other sound channels to produce a deep baseline.
I can't find a video on youtube, and it was never released in the US but was in Europe abliet without the extra sound and rewritten music.

Since we're also posting 16bit music for some reason, the same day i watched that video i saw a lot of videos of Turrican 2 on the Amiga. Very good music for 4 channel modules.

I'm not even sure if it's 8-bit, 16-bit or something in-between, but it's one of my favourites. Kirby on happy pills.

Maybe we need a seperate thread for 16-bit music, but for the record here's my favourite: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=VNZ3VE3qkgM

I forgot to mention this. Without a doubt my favourite "8-bit" soundtrack is FX3: http://www.8bitpeoples.com/discography_gfx.php?artist=Virt#8BP071 . It's hard to choose a favourite track. Probably "Visitor".
