im working on a tank game
which i have a fair bit done on

im after people to tell me what it needs...

the controls so far are normal car movement

ctrl-fires cannon(5 sec reload time)
shift-fires mg(10 second reload time after all 100 shells are used)

Well you could make the turret rotate independently of the tank, and use 360 degree movement/rotation of course. Add some particle effects? I dunno. Also the machine gun doesn't reload yet.

i set the reload

i have old tgf right now

i dont make much money

but im even considering handing it over to a tgf2 user at the end and change the movement... need to get one who will first

did you think the screen need to be bigger? i was considering making 2 versions on 500x500 another 1000X1000 or ?X? what people say will work best

500x500 sounds like more than enough, unless your sprites are amazingly huge.

If anything, keep the screen resolution in a 4:3 ratio. So 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768...

i reorganised it to 600x800 yesterday thinking that and the sprites are fairly big

^im after opinions on t now with the changes ive done a mini map maybe coming later because the map it to big

also doesnt anyone know how i can get the aimer to follow the screen with out messing up aiming

Don't use 600x800, that's a 3:4 ratio instead of a 4:3 one!
Try using 640x480?

Re-inventing the wheel for a little game is not worth it, stick to 4:3, don't worry about size being original, it's nothing but displaying the game on the screen. Focus on the actual game!
