Okay, first read this: http://www.clickteam.com/epicenter/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=21526&Main=3114#Post21526

So why doesn't the DC have anything like this? It's annoying, always on the Code-It boards, people use all sorts of ways to present their code. Some people do like:

* Event
+ Condition
-action

Others do like:

Event
Condition
Action

And some people even do like:

Event => Action

So why can't we have some sort of special markup system for embedding event code in forum posts? Or at least some sort of standardized system for it. Kplz?

Everyone loves the idea, but then everyone wants their way of doing it to be the standard

[code]
[condition]Object "player" overlaps a backdrop[/condition]
[action]Set y of "player" to y - 1[/action]
[/code]

Would be an ok markup I think.

Or maybe

[code]

[group name="group 1"]
[condition]Start of level[/condition]
[action]Play sample omg.wav[/action]
[/group]

[/code]

But we'd need someone to code this. Any ASP leets around? Clubby!!!1

The [code] tag would be completely redundant if every other bit has its own tag. And if I have to type out long words like 'condition' i'd never use it. [con][act] etcetera.

Not that I feel it's particularly necessary. You can always tell what people mean even if they aren't consistant. Personally I think plus signs and dashes do the job pretty well.

Sitting here, trying to find out a standard way of doing it, when Clickteam already has. Just use their way as the standard, that way it's not like learning two different things for the same outcome, on two different sites.
