Windows Live Messenger, woopdeedoo.

What do you think of offline messages?

I HATE THEM WITH A VENGEANCE.

I used to click 'appear offline' to get some peace, but now? The messages just keep coming! Sometimes people don't notice you're offline, since it no longer flags up a 'message could not be sent' warning. So having said 'night, bye' and gone offline, I get a barrage of "see u tomorrow! Hope everything's alright! Have a nice night!" etc. And it just doesn't stop!

Then you get those annoying people who keep sending stuff in Offline messages as reminders. They think 'ah, Chris isn't offline, but before I forget what I want to say, I'll just send him an offline message!'

And it's ALWAYS the people who have nothing interesting to say!! Like this one person I know, she is the actual definition of a moron. She's like the Mira Hindley of Offline Message Abuse.

I think it's cool that you can appear offline, and then start an offline conversation with a friend whose status is ONLINE. But you shouldn't be able to send messages to someone who is offline. Do we not have email for that purpose? It's far less invasive. And for annoying people like the above, I have Hotmail set to redirect everything to Junk mail anyway.

What's more, I personally find Windows Live Messenger to be slow, ugly, unresponsive and frankly disgusting. The new features are for the most part pointless, and it looks even uglier than the last one! And what's more, people who're offline aren't even RED now!? They're GREY! You wouldn't believe how long it's gonna take me to get used to that...

<wanders off muttering>

I know! And it seems like MSN Live people can abuse MSN 7.5 users with it as well. I've still got 7.5, and I get it all the time. And it's so annoying, every time I sign on I get spammed with "Good night!" messages from the day before

I personally haven't had any problems with Windows Live Messenger, and as far as looks, I find Live Messenger looks much better, this could just be me though.

I've had no problems. If you don't like it in general Dines, why not just use 7.5?
