So last night, I decided to go and download ED, because I had never played it before (for some reason). Anyways, I loaded the game, and watched the beautiful intro. When I started playing though, I noticed something:

Yes, it seemed like the characters were pasting themselves to the background! How strange. It did make the game unplayable, so I went to the downloads section. I try a demo, and the same thing happens:
Image

Kinda fustrated, I load up a few other games (mine included) and see that they do not have the same problem, except for one. This one, fortunatly, only the background was pasted.

Then I recall a game a few years back did the exact same thing, so I went and found it, and loaded it up. Lo and behold:

So I come here, with my 5 gifs, and I ask, what is going on? They work fine on every other computer that I tried them on (95,2000,XP), why is it mine (XP) that they all decide to be glitchy?

Of Cncs232.dll, right? I got the most updated version of it, and I placed it in my Windows foler, System and System32 folders, and in the game directory folders. Still no luck, unless your talking about some other DLL.

I seriously think it's a dll thing. If not it could be directdraw... or your video card. But it's probably the dll.

Actually, after reading about that direct draw, I went and turned off my hardware acceleration for my graphics card, and everything worked fine. Then I googled my graphics card, and got an updated driver. Now everything works fine with hardware acceleration.

I sometimes have that problem when I use Alt-Tab on an MMF game and then go back.

Andy: Apparently so. I didn't think I did, but I guess I can't really tell the age of drivers.

That has happened to me before. I hit the computer and it stopped.

But I suggest you try to think it out logically first before you resort to hitting.

It could just be Nvidia's recently shitty drivers. Seriously, the quality of their drivers has nosedived in the past year or so.

Craps, I'm an old man!
