Game of the Week Winner
20th July, 2005 at 12:10:28 -

Dear Daily Clickers!
As most people are familiar with, this site use to host certain smaller competitions where the one who makes the best game wins. I have a suggestion for a future competition in that line, which breaks the tradition: To make the most game in a limited time instead of the best.
All of them must be decent, have a certain amount of levels and be finished. The one games that does not fullfill these demands will not count.
Most of you who read this I am sure thinks "This does not sound like a plan for varios reasons", but please let me face some of the arguments you might have against my idea:
"People are never impressed of the numbers of games someone makes, but the quality"
I like to see this project as a contest for the clickers ability to complete games. Ussually I am not only impressed by the game I play, but the fact that he actually finished it, and the winner of the previos contest didn¨t even finish his game in time. Wouldn't it be a good idea to test some other of the clickers' skills instead of just looking on the same statue from different angles?
"This is going to take alot of space submitting multiple games instead of a single"
A game is still a game even if it is in a gamefile with another. Make a menu selection to choose from, or make the player play them one game after another. Don't you think it would be good anyway?
"What if I can't make a decent game?"
The horrible truth: Then you wouldn't have a chance to win anyway. Besides, those who make games for competitions ussually makes them pretty good in one way or another. We have had quality checks before.
I guess some of you still have some doubts about this, but from my point of view this could work out pretty good. If you have any reason to believe this idea won't work under any circumstances, then I love to hear them.

this would only give us a HUGE amount of crap games.

"I like to see this project as a contest for the clickers ability to complete games. I am pretty sure of that the majority of people would enjoy a game that is halfdone but have awesome quality before a finished crap game.
I don't know about you or the others, but I don't wanna bathe in a pile of crap games.

Look at the TDC frontpage i.e. There Rikus has announced up this game, Heatown which is a two level demo with awesome graphics. Take a guess of how many finished crap games that haven't got to the frontpage.

I dunno, but that is just my opinion.
