I am having some problems playing audio on a DivX movie I've got. The DivX player says I might need a audio codec, but it doesnt automaticly download it.

I've been to DivX.com and checked around there, I cant seem to find anything.

Anyone know of a audio codec I might need to install?

Not sure what audio codec it is, but if you need codecs, you'd best download the K-Lite Codec Pack. It contains everything you need.

Audio codec? I thought Divx files used mp3 files. surely your computer has an mp3 codec.
I remember needing to download an audio codec for something, Windows media player usually downloads them automatically, Does the Divx player say the name of the audio codec you need? It did for me.

Ok, time to clear up a little confusion here.

WW, you're likely missing the AC3 codec, it's pretty commonly used, but not widely distributed.

Anyway, Divx is just a video encoder, it can be mixed with whatever audio encoding you want. Also, basically, Divx is crap nowadays, Xvid is so much better (IMO) it's basically the same thing, though Xvid is open source and is always being updated and I seem to get a much sharper picture with Xvid than I ever did with divx. (And I watch a lot of video)

it's in the Kazaa lite codec pack, download the biggest one you can find, it's full of fun and interesting stuff. It's also got the second best media program of all time BSplayer.

PS. The Core Media Player is my end all media player.
