What's going on here? There are certain posts that I can't edit and there are others that I can edit, it seems to be random. I get a page with "You cannot edit this post." on it. It's pretty annoying. Anyone else experiencing this?

You can only edit posts if someone else hasn't replied to the thread after you.

It's so someone can't say something objectionable and then go back and change it after aggrevating a load of people. It makes sense.

Very few do. Most forums aren't setup to keep logs of the original posts - I had to hack a copy of phpBB once for a friend to do that. It's because it can take up a lot of space on your server to store copies of every message that has been edited and/or deleted.

Could be a different story with TDC of course, but it's pretty rare to find a forum setup to do that.

If logs are made then I can't see them. It does waste space and would usually be redundant, so I can't imagine that we do.
