I now have the SSDL extension (thanks again to those that helped with that problem), but I'm having some difficulties with it. I downloaded a small image without trouble, but with other files it kept downloading 20 byte files which infact are just an error message saying "Bad Request" as it turns out. I looked on the clickteam forum and found this quote from tigerworks;

"Bad Request" means the HTTP request made by SSDL was malformed or had a syntax error. This means it's probably fixable.
Also if the server is HTTP/1.1, and the object is making a HTTP/1.0 request without the 'Host' header, the server will reject the request with a 'Bad Request' message.

I used the debugging console to check that the url i was trying to download from was exactly right, and it was, which made me wonder about the second part of his statement. The problem is, I have no clue what hes on about! How do you tell if the servers HTTP/1.1 or 1.0, and whats this host header? - basically is it fixable, and if so, how?
I have also read that some hosts dont allow direct downloading - but how would i tell if that was the problem?

Just try downloading an image from a few random websites, if they work then it's probabley the host of the place you are trying to download from.

You can download a file fairly easily with moosock.

I remain extremely sceptical about downloading with moosock - I got the example from the knowledge base and even that doesnt seem to work, and looking at the quantity/complexity of the events its certainly not easy.
