I have a friend who's starting up in webhosting.

He uses a reseller account. It's still at the phase of deciding price ranges and stuff, but at a current guess it'll be somewhere between £50 and £70 per year.

He can host up to 20 people.

What you'd get would be: <deep breath>

500MB Web Space
20GB Bandwidth (Monthly)
200 POP3 Emails
Cpanel control panel
5 Mailing Lists
40 Subdomains 40
5 Mysql Databases
5 FTP Accounts
Autoresponders
E-mail filters
Anti Spam Filters
Antivirus protection
SMTP (outgoing mail)
Webmail
Front Page 2002/xp
Secure Server
PHP4
CGI-BIN/SSI
Resource Meter
Counters
Web Stats
CGI Bin
File Manager
Custom Error Pages
Password Protection
FTP Upload
Apache Handlers
Accessible Backup
Easy CGI Scripts
Shopping Cart

Pre-installed CGI Scripts. No installation is required. This is in addition to a cgi-bin directory for running their own perl scripts.

Agora Shopping Cart
XMB Bulletin Board (subject to you selecting a plan size that includes Mysql)
Java Chat
Html Chat
PhpMyChat (subject to you selecting a plan size that includes Mysql)
Cgi Wrapper (for non-suexec installs)
Random HTML Generator
Advanced Guestbook

Something like that.

Anyway, what do you think? Any suggestions?

http://www.powweb.com/ is definitely the best hosting I've ever seen. 2gb space (4 times as much), 150gb bandwidth/month (advertised as 5gb/day, 7.5 times as much), 650 mailboxes (over 3 times as many), all the PHP and databases stuff, zero downtime, and 24/7 customer support. Hosting really is a deathly cut-throat business.

Sadly i would think you would know that the ammont of webspace you have is depending on how much hard drive space you have if I'm not mistaken, so that unlimited might turn into like maybe 40-120GB, which is alot for a website, but not nessarly unlimited.

Yep a common mistake is that if you host your own server, 5 concurrent downloads will easily reduce you to 6-7kb/sec transfers even for all your broadband visitors.

Fire: I totally wouldn't trust you with any of my money, and that site doesnt even look like you made it, compared to your other best efforts.
