I managed to scrape together this simple little version of a Guan Dao.

Sorry that it's hosted on Deviantart, but my own webspace is becoming increasingly crowded.

Believe it or not, it's a weapon used by martial artists today.

This is a different weapon. It's called a Cobra Pike.

This game is going to be a close-combat-based platformer/sidescroller. It's not really fair to call it a platformer, because it has no pits or real obstacles.

There are three characters (plus some hidden ones if I decide to do them). One uses the Guan Dao (his name is Guan Yu, today he's known as Guan Kong in Chinese folklore). The second uses this weapon (his name is Zhang Fei, also quite famous I believe). The third uses twin swords (his name is Liu Bei, and he's also a folk hero... the three of them were brothers and Liu Bei was the "leader").
