This is some concept art for a dress one of my characters may wear in an upcoming 'Prom' episode in a webcomic I make very irregularly.

Whatcha think? It's meant to be a little gothic, but very light and silvery at the same time - to give more of a 'ghostly' impression than an 'angst-driven-angel-of-death' one. It's important, because someone else that she absolutely hates comes wearing a very black and dark gothy dress, and it's used as an artistic contrast.

(ps: Being a good chaste Christian lad has its advantages; but understanding female anatomy is not one of them . I think this is accurate enough in the curves, tho there are a few things that went wrong... )

Enjoy. Any various other details are as follows:

Tools:
Pens: 0.1mm Artline pen + tacky cheap Graphics Tablet
Pencils: Some mechanical pencil that an elderly person gave me on the 30th November 2002.
Paper: That stuff what you print on.
Scanner: Tacky old Colorado USB 9600.
Apps: PowerTWAIN + Photoshop 7

Other stuff:
Pencilled and inked on paper - scanned and coloured in Photoshop with tablet.

I need choc! <goes to eat>

Is that a character be for "Harrington Park"?

I like it - although her hand is massive (maybe it's meant to be).

Yeah she kinda looks like she's wearing skate-shoes or something. But it's a great drawing, especially the shading.

Lol, yeah Noodle, it's Heather from Harrington. She started off with ginger hair when I began the comic, but I'm slowly trying to make it look more blood-red every issue. Hopefully most people won't notice . And yeh, although I do tend to draw hands a bit big, hers are too big.

Dinesy, old boy! Havent heard from you in a long time! I remember Harrington Park well, you needs must post a link to it here.

As already stated, the hands are much to large. I'm also not fond of how large her eyes are, but that is your style. Her neck and shoulder muscles also look a little masculine, I'd try thinning and lowering the neck so that its a little closer to the shoulders and not so rugby player-ish. The ear is also at a strange angle. Breasts, waist and stomach all look nice. But as said, the hand is the main issue, and the rest could just be said to be style or something.

Im curious to know what the little light scribbles are in the lower right hand corner? They sort of look like your signature repeated a couple of times.

Anyway, you've made everything very shiny, which is an interesting way to colour.

I've been working on my own webcomic, but Ive kept most of it in Black and White(bar a few posters). I'd be interested in showing you some of the posters (DC mail) and uncoloured images to see what you think, and if you could give any advice as far as colouring. Because I've put of any colouring thus far, but I'd like to get an authentic comic book feel. Just tell me if you can help and I'll mail you. Cheers!

Yeah sure, I'll have a look!

Thanks for the suggestions too!

I try to keep her looking a little squidgy round the edges (cos she's meant to be about 15). I noticed the muscles joining her neck to her shoulder appeared to bulge more like a man's, I think that was a mistake whilst inking that I forgot to fix - but yeah, I guess she does look a little bulkyish in the shoulder area.

I think I see the scribbles you mean. They were erased pencil lines from an earlier drawing I think, or they may have rubbed off from another drawing. Yep, they're my signature!

Anyways, thanks again, and sure you can PM me.

Hah. That might violate the school dress code. Where is that left hand going off to? Good form, shading, etc.

Hehe, if you've got a stupid imagination like I have, if you look at the pic it can look like she's only got one arm, quite a long one. But then again, Jack Daniels can warp your mind.

"Hah. That might violate the school dress code."

Not by a long shot, at least where I went.
