I occaisonally like to make games in low resolution (for a retro look). I do so by changing the playfield size of the level/frame to something small (like 320 x 240) and then setting the window size to something larger (like 640 x 480). Then I check "resize to fill window size" in the game setup/application properties. However, when I do this and I want to make a large level to scroll around in (say about 900 x 600) all it does is change the resolution to higher detail (smaller pixels). How do I make it scroll instead of alter the pixelation?

I use both TGF and MMF, so you can give help for either one. Thanks for reading, I hope it all made sense.

It's impossible, so far as I know. Your best bet may be to have the window the same size and use fullscreen.

Yeah that be what I'd have to resort to. There's always the option of resizing everything 200% also. But that can get annoying after a while.

Have you considered simply drawing everything with an 2x2 brush? You'd have to be pretty careful not to have any orphen pixels, but it'd be easier than resizing.

You wouldn't be able to use any of the default movements, either. Annoying, which is why most people go fullscreen and don't use the slow 'resize to fill window size' option.

that resize to fullscreen is really scruffy too, some lines are larger than others.

Resize to Fill Screen simply does a Resize every frame of the game. As you can imagine it totally wastes CPU time. Just use the change resolution mode in MMF.
