Does the GOTW run from a Sunday to Saturday. If I were to submit a game say, on a Saturday, would it be too late to enter for the GOTW for that week as peeps wouldn't have much time to download, play and rate the game (good and bad).
GOTW usually starts from a Sunday to Saturday - and games are sometimes accepted as potential candidates on a Saturday. Sometimes though, they're not.
However, a game, to even consider an attempt at GOTW qualification, must have:
1. A good host (nothing like Angelfire, Geocities, Freewebs - that kind of thing)
2. Screenshots
3. A decent description (not just a single tiny three line paragraph)
I usually do the GOTW on a Saturday afternoon sometime - and if a game on the Pendings Download list isn't accepted before then, then it won't get in for that week - but possibly the next one.
Summing up, anything can be included in GOTW before I actually write it. Sometimes the pending downloads list is checked before, sometimes it's done afterwards. Hope that helps.
I'm on every day of the year. When the ITD hasn't disabled my account for "security breaches," anyway. But New Year's I'll be home, so I'll release something then just to be contrary.
I used to have this little marketing plan back in the Click Cafe days where I placed all my downloads only on Mondays and Tuesdays. Since CC's Top Weekly Downloads are resetted every Sunday or so, that gives me a head start.
So far, ALL of the games and that KNP FAQ (a primitive version of my current Click FAQ) I posted back then made it to the Top Weekly Downloads on CC. My KNP FAQ was actually there for 3 weeks in a row, thanks to a bug that didn't reset the counters.
