The Daily Click has a major user base that seems to think that all fan games are bad.

Now, I create fan games myself? Do I suck? Perhaps, but that doesnt make me a horrible person who makes crappy games.

People yell at others because that they used ripped sprites and sounds, and that immediatley makes them think that its a terrible game. Why do they keep doing this you ask?

Simple: They're just not creative.

Its extremely hard to make a character that stands out. They need to make someone who would match their environment, seem cool and new. But it isnt very easy.

To overcome this: People just take sprites from existing games and put it into something else, because then they know what to base their game around.

Lets take Mario for example. He's all about jumping, fireballs and koopas. There, now just some levels and bad guys and thats it!

No? Thats not the case? Well some problems come from the inexperience with tools like Click and Create, they just want to get something out. Sure, it'll play nothing like the original.

There are fan games out there that are actually decent. I've seen the Mario and Sonic fan games, there are people out there who are getting closer to the originals.

It also doesnt hurt to come up with something different. So what if it doesnt play like the original? Stuff like Mario VS. Sonic was gold back in the day.

The problem is, you just toss it aside for no reason. Why not encourage them to make another one? They could come up with something orignal. If its so bad, why not support them with your own sprites if your so annoyed by it. You dont need to drive them away from te Click scene. Everyone needs to start somewhere.
