Have you ever played a game that you feel thing just don't work together, and I'm not talking about programming, but in the graphics and sounds? Well here is a few tips to prevent this.

--GRAPHICS--
Create graphics that all have the same resolution quality. Having a pixelated picture is fine, as long as it is consistent in being pixelated. For example, you wouldn't want to have a high-resolution enemy and the player looks like something from a Commadore 64.
Also, you want to create graphics of the same style. By style I mean your style of art. Is it cartoon, photographic, blocky, smooth...?

--SOUNDS--
The same rule applies with the sounds in your game. You want to keep your sounds at the same style and volume level.

--COLOR--
For color you want to keep the colors similar and not very flashy, unless you want a Pokemon effect. Ha ha... It's also good to have a dark background and a light foreground.

--GAMEPLAY--
Keeping a consistent gameplay is recommended. For example, having a game that switches back an forth between role playing and platform and puzzle, won't exactly appeal to the average gamer. However, you can successfully merge two genres. For example, you could have an adventure game where when you meet someone and you get in a fight, and it's in a street fighter type level. But, if you do this you want to keep the adenture to street fighter ratio consistent.

NOTE: This does not apply if you are trying to achieve something artistically.

Apparently this is the shortest article ever.
I hope this is an acceptable length for blueemu now that I edited it.
