Draft #1:
It's about some dude waking up in the middle of no where. However, the truth is that he is part of a research team, traveling light years crossing galaxies. Because the space travel distance was so great, everyone was put to hyper-sleeping chambers.
Games starts with our hero waking up, finds himself laying on the floor, inside a crashed mother ship.
Our hero walks around, picking up random objects which will slowly revealing of what really happened; some items will also give the hero ideas of where he should go and do.
As the story progresses, hero finds his surviving teammates. Teammates have their own specialties and may contribute distinctively, for example: Mechanics can repair, Scientists can invent/develop new technologies, Pilots can help you in combats, etc.
The ship itself may be upgraded in many ways. There available slots on the ship for the parts such as engine, battery, weapons etc.

Rough Plot Summary:
Heroine goes on a rescue mission. Met a female comrade, and later became good friends. Heroine falls in love with the comrade, at least he thought. As the game of love goes, the heroine always tried to impress her in order to gain her acceptance. But when asked, "will you be my girl friend?" she never answers, always dodged the question by talking about something else.
Later, as the insecurity of their relationship grew, it was clear that the girl is no longer interested in the heroine and was probably only using him for her own self-gain. In actuality, the girl sort of liked him at first, but just not sure.
With such realization, the heroine became very depressed and some what angry of her and mostly himself.
Fulfilled with emotions of self-loathing, the Heroine decided to volunteer in an extremely dangerous mission.
