Close, but not quite there

The game won't be released today like I expected a few weeks ago, even though technically the game is pretty much done.
The beta testers's feedback was greatly motivating and helpful, they pointed out some small issues and gave me a few suggestions that I'm going to correct/implement in the coming days.

In addition I decided to work on one last new feature before the release: Custom campaigns.

Everyone will be able to create their own levels and campaigns using the tools we're going to release with the game, namely the level editor and the campaign editor.

This was something I had thought about doing before but decided to scrap the plans for several reasons, but after much thought and discussion, we decided that it could be interesting to see what the community will come up with, as well as add some hopefully quality content to the game.

We'll be supporting the creations of the community by hosting their campaigns and by opening a new section in the official site of the game with a listing of all the released community made campaigns. In addition, the forum will have it's own board for the community made content.

So right now the todo list is:
-Give the game the last touches
-Finish the community content creation tools
-Write the game and tools pdf manuals.

Hopefully this won't take much time, but I'll try not to advance with more imprecise release dates.

EDIT: I just read about Rudy Versele's passing. For who didn't knew him, he was the founder of Caiman.us and one of the greatest persons I've ever known. He is strongly connected to my earlier projects and helped me out in several ways. The least I can do is dedicate A Man With a Monocle to his memory. RIP buddy !

I hope the PDF has spiffy concept art.

Where's Jthongbai?

ahaha, I don't wouldn't want to feel people are buying the game only for the manual's fantastic looking art so I might have to look elsewhere.

I am sitting on needels (i dont know if i can translate this german sentence exatcly like that)... what it means is: looking forward to the game!!!!

Yea, "sitting on pins and needles" is a phrase! Sometimes "on tenterhooks". Though that's more rare.

Well the game WAS originally supposed to be released in September last year wasn't it

Ahah well yes, I think it's fair to say I was way too optimistic back then.

Seriously though, I'm glad I didn't release the game in September, during these 9 months it improved drastically, and as the game got better my expectations rose, and once you've put so much work and heart into something it would be a real waste to release it if you're still not 100% happy with the final product. Now I can now say for sure I'm more than happy about it; I actually feel proud, and that's something I don't say every day.
