A trailer !
Posted 27th Feb 10, by Johnny Look
Well since I haven't posted any screenshots for a long time, I decided I'd make a small trailer with some gameplay footage of the first parts of the game.

I had a hard time trying to upload the damn thing because of my crapy mobile internet connection but I finally did it, even if I had to compress the video quite a bit (now that I look at it, perhaps too much ).

Though what you see is, like I said, only a few parts of the beginning of the game, you can finally see the game in motion (well sort of, the compression almost ruined the video) and hear a small bit of Johan's work.

I'll try to reupload the video with better quality as soon as I get home, perhaps next weekend.

In the meanwhile:

Looks excellent.

What part of the game is that music for?

Geil! I love the mood of the music and the background. Cant wait until you have sfx in! Will be one of the good ones.

Thanks a lot guies !

omc: It's for the beginning, the song has to do with the story so I can't reveal much more.

jot: actually the game already have most sound effects in already, but I didn't record the audio of the game for this trailer, I only put the music on afterwards to make sure the transitions between each bit of gameplay footage would look as seamless as possible.

I thought it sounded very story-like. I'll betcha the monocle doubles as a steampunk music box. And this is its tune. Yea.

*Suddenly has an idea*

Is this all done in SDL? I looked into it once but never really did much more than that. How much faster is it than MMF in displaying images and everything?
