Beta Demo (v1.77) Download
Posted 1st Feb 10, by ILIKESCIFI Games
Hey everyone

As you might know, this game is my diploma project, and i just finished my diploma - at least the theoretical part
(jump n run evolution ) and the demo of Pitiri.

For I am miles away from a finished game and for you guys have always been really cool in giving critics, I will put up a little download for everyone who wants to beta test Pitiri.
Just one thing I really need to be sure of: dont upload the demo somewhere else or post it in some forums. Its not finished, and at the moment, the official owner of the game is my university.

I had some trouble with some systems again (white screen after the intro logos, music did not play,...), so I really hope that 8 out of 10 people testing, can enjoy Pitiri in the way it should be.

You can send me a mail, and I will send you a link for the download: iamjot @ gmail.com

cheers and have fun

Hmm. Nice artwork but the one major problem for me is lag, but mainly when I'm moving right... moving left and it seems to run quite smoothly.

Also the main character seems kinda small in comparison with some of the backdrops, like the shed door looks castle sized compared to him.

Lovely artwork, and the physics stuff is fun.

The second area was a bit dark at the top though. I had to up the brightness to see where the ledges were above the glowing yellow light.

Also, two bugs with the second skill, the bubble thing, used in the training simulation area. Using it while standing on ground got me stuck. Couldn't move until switching to normal and jumping once. Secondly, floating with the bubble over that first pit you're supposed to cross, the screen kept scrolling down, showing off-level stuff, like an orange detector box. ;P

Just got to the dark area and it crashed as I was trying to climb the platforms after the weird screaming thing. IMO it's waaaay too dark in that area, not much fun when it's guess work

I just tried to play the demo, and when the level tried to load it loaded almost no objects. I could see some of the things you could interact with but I couldn't see any of the background. Main Menus looked nice tho

Amaizng graphics! I like very much the animated texture on the character - it makes him realy alive. Just like in old animations.
One bad thing i noticed - when character jump - he became a little smaller, especialy his head became a 1/4 smaller...
And give player little hints.
I also very like that you use different style for different levels: classic, silhouette, black\white... - it makes me interesting in what style will be next locations.
Good luck!

I couldn't play

the game loaded, the backgrounds loaded and a few objects but i was running in thin air!! no platforms at all, quite amusing to watch but damn difficult to play so can't really comment on the game itself.

sorry

@ lag: It was the sound! I have got many direct show (this yellow cross thing extension) mp3s in my game. be careful with those guys. I try to figure out the mistake and tell you guys then!

cheers

Hey guys, thanks for testing. I am working on everything now. @ lembi: the problem was that i put in huge graphics (2000 x 1000 and so on). I sliced them down to a few smaller pieces. When did you download the game. I uploaded a new version (with the slices 2 days ago...it should work now). thx thx thx

Rather than publicly release a demo and run the risk of people uploading it, you probably should have emailed it to a few trusted people that you know fairly well.

I'm not saying anybody here is untrustworthy but theres a much greater risk of the link being found by someone and spreading it about.
