Not gonna use the paperlook...
Posted 17th Aug 09, by ILIKESCIFI Games
Ok after some really big thoughtfull (does this word exist?...whatever...) days, we´ve decided to NOT put in the paperlook in this game. It would just destroy it we think.

I´m maybe gonna make a "paper" game later on but for now we will leave the paper stuff on the side for a while. Hope u guys understand too.

cheers

I thought that was temporary anyway? o.0 Seems to be a Braid-painted look you're going for, now?

I kinda liked the paper look but once your artist created stuff for it, it really kicked the paper-look in the teeth anyway, so the two would not have worked together

Yes jthongbai (what a name!!)you have absolutely the point. And its gonna be a painted look (each and every prop will be painted or drawn). I also liked the paper look pretty much and i hope i will have the time (whenever) to use it for another game. I also liked working with paper.
Let´s see how the next steps will be. I keep you updated ok? thx for the comments adam and Jt and see you around.

Make sure you don't update it on every little thing. It's not that I don't like to see updates, but it's nicer to see big updates/changes, rather than seeing everything being made and then incorporated into the game, just incorporate it and post a video to drool over

Hehe yea you´re right again. Its just like I sit in front of the machine 10 hours a day, that changes my feeling for time or for the size of steps

I gotta admit Braid had some excellent visuals, I would totally go for it. Plus I'm a huge addict to it...

I personally really liked the paperly feel to it, it felt very original, as I don't believe I've ever seen a game like it. But I can understand where you're coming from; it's still in the works and there's tonnes of decisions to make, as long as you've got em. The ones that've stayed with you since in the long run are the ones you should keep.
