i didnt get a chance to do much today, as i was working on other things but i managed to update the graphics for the forest backdrop. the house unfortunatly still looks like south park threw up in my game, and the sprites are still goofy.

speaking of sprites, the zombies heads dissapear when you shoot at them, and the bodies linger for a while before they die. they still need a neat dying animation to go with it, but trust me, itll be cool when its done. they also dont explode like i want them to, but trust me. GORE.

i updated the ai as well. not only do the zombies follow you up and down the stairs (perfectly i might add, with no interruptions like before and 10 other zombies dont start floating up randomly in the sky) but instead of following the player specifically, they follow a target that goes right to the player when hes any where but the attic.

the ladders are still being poopoo, but once i get that up, the target will randomly pick a spot on the map untill the zombie reaches it, or when the player emerges from his hiding place.

the engine is great so far, but when there are enough zombies on screen they start to slow it down... it got down as far as 7 fps with about 250 total objects. when i get more done with the engine im problably going to look for someone with actual expirence to walk through it with me so that we can make it more efficiant. kind of hard when each zombie waltzes around with 5 actives total (they add up).

let me know what you guys think! i always like to get feedback, weather good or bad, lay it on me!

That shading really made your game look better!

its still not to where i want it though. the trees look retarded, and the leaves are all off center. ill redo it later today.

is the cursor restrained near the player? Or can you move it around the screen?

for the moment it is. its controlled by a variable thats set at 50, so it rotates 50 pixels away from the player. when you upgrade your sights and scopes that number will increase. the actual cursor isnt going to even show up at the beginning untill the sights are at a certain level, which makes it a bit harder to hit the zombies (not for better players). eventually your binoculars will upgrade to a scope that you can snipe off the enemies much easier.

ahh, cool. Also you should make the zombies hunched over, green skin colored, and have torn clothes with blood staines
