rant

I'm fucking tired of mmf2's flaws.
As you might know MMF2 doesn't use a parenting system, instead it uses spread values for object selection. It's not nearly as effective but well it does the job. Or at least it should.

Simply put, the spread value system in MMF2 doesn't work properly, as there is always a few things underneath the program that messes with the object selection, thus making spread values almost useless.

I've been for a whole week trying to get around a really stupid bug caused by MMF2s shitty object selection, and honestly I deeply regret having started this project on MMF2, let alone having bought MMF2 developer.

However this flaw is far from being the only one, I came across with really unexplainable bugs like object that disappear and then turn into bad objects and crap like that. And the most incredible thing is I have the latest update which is over a year old, same thing for the HWA and java updates. If you're going to ship the same product during 15 years at least make it stable.

Sometimes I wonder, is clickteam sleeping or what?

Either way my advice is to think twice before buying any click product and try free solutions like Construct instead.

Its not a bug, its a "feature"! But seriously construct is much worse, I've tried it. Your better off learning real programming.

i didnt know that either of these were fake!? i guess were all just imagining any of the games made with both products.

of cource it really does seem like that. im having the same issue with object selection. terrible time it is.

Construct is fantastic, I love its event system.

Sadly, this is why I stopped clicking. I realized that it was to unstable to handle large projects. Also using a programming language offers more control even though a lot of functionality takes much more time to code compared to doing the same things in MMF.

I still think MMF is a very good approach to programming visually and making small and medium sized games.

UrbanMonk:Well I disagree Construct has several features I wish MMF2 had, all it lacks in comparison is the stability and a big community to support it. And about learning proper programming well I already know Blitz 3D and it was one of my other choices to start this project. The only reason why I choose MMF2 was because I already had the hang of Moo.

chloecakes: I really feel dumb for asking this, but what are you talking about ?

and yeah fuck object selection

Csar: Exactly, like you said MMF2 is good for small and medium sized games but the thing is, so is Construct (as soon as it's 100% stable) and gamemaker which are free. Clickteam are loosing ground, that is the truth, and I already regret having spent so much money on their outdated products.

lol, i was talking about urban monk when he said that click products arent real programming. it may be kind of shitty at times, but its still logic based coding.

yeah we had a huge argument in the forums about that a few months ago, and the conclusion is, it is real programming just it uses a visual interface instead of text.
