Project Overview  
Preview //Project frozen due to unforeseen events

Vulpes is a side-scrolling action game. The game centers around an unknown dystopian imperium, located in Eastern Europe. Our main character wakes in a middle of war, and it is a war that she must take part in. Is she even fighting on the right side?

That's just some story concept, that we've thought.

Vulpes will not try to break any new ground really. Our goal is to make the best possible game in a reasonable amount of time (we're aiming at summer release). There are currently two people involved in the project: me and Gokotti (Mikko Kokotti). I'm the main coder, and Gokotti is the main graphic designer.

Vulpes will probably be the biggest game we have ever created. It will have many enemies, bosses, and of course guns! There are nine guns in total, including the basic shooter armory like smg and shotgun, but we also have some more experimental guns like flamethrower and "the annihilator". I will post some more info when it's time.

What has been done:
- player movement, incl. aiming and shooting 360 degrees ()
- basic effects like explosions, smoke and flames
- some tiles, such as windows, bricks, dungeon tiles etc.
- basic soldier AI

To-do list:
- more AI
- more story
- fixing weapons

the gun in picture is the annihilator. It's pulse explosions cause all kinds of nasty stuff to enemies.

I Don't Want to Set the World On Fire

Ahh, what a great song by The Ink Spots! Too bad that I must disagree with the title. I WANT to set the world on fire. Not really of course, but I just find it hilarious to set enemies on fire in videogames. That's why I have some new footage for you:

I understand, that these might not be the best flame effects ever, but I'm still quite satisfied with them.

But wait...There's more!

A brand new enemy unit! This one has also something to do with fire, as you might have guessed. This enemy has already been animated, so now it's up to my lazy ass to integrate it to the game!

+There's also a shotgun trooper coded from start to finish! I have also made some other fixes, that aren't worth mentioning here.
