Project: Link's Awakening Remastered
| Project Overview |
|
A remake of the gameboy game Link's Awakening, featuring updated graphics (SNES) and interface. A team project with leader Jeod and programming leader Gamefreak202. Contact Jeod if you wish to help; Gamefreak202 is inactive.
**************************************************
Jeod's Note:
We've had some questions on the terms of "remake". To clarify, this is a "Remastering" of Link's Awakening DX for Gameboy Color. Our game is featuring updated graphics, an updated game engine (will run on the SNES engine), remixed music, and a few changes in the overworld to accomodate the engine switch. The storyline and game script, however, will remain unchanged. No worries, we are not "ruining" the game.

Hi guys! Jeod here, with an update on schedule. I plan to work weekends on Koholint's overworld map. I'm determined to at least get that done before next summer.
Unfortunately, August hasn't brought much to the remake. September won't either. But I promise October will be different! If you take a look at the Koholint Map devlog, you'll see the latest map update.
*If you're interested in joining the team and helping us with this project, please send me a PM! We're actively looking for more members to help get this done. (Life is taking a toll, especially on me because it's senior year here)

Sorry for lack of project updates guys! Gamefreak and I have been busy with our own lives, and haven't had time to work on the technical demo. HOWEVER, I have decided that along with this project, I will work on and release templates/tutorials for GAMEBOY COLOR Zelda engines in Multimedia Fusion 2. Here's a list of planned engines so far:
Sword Engine
Shield Engine
Boomerang Engine
Swimming/Diving Engine
Falling Engine (Falling into holes)
Ice Movement Engine
Lifting Engine
Remember, these engines will be in gameboy color format. They will not be used in Link's Awakening Remastered.

Hi guys! Jeod here. I want to direct you to a few of our websites where we also ask for opinions on our project. You might like it if you're interested in game design.

We are proud to introduce a new member to our project: Disco Peach! Disco's working on a ROM hack of LTTP which will be a direct sequel to Link's Awakening. He's very skilled graphic-wise, and thanks to him we'll be able to further complete our remake.
I also have the honor of telling you that the Link sprites are 60% completed. Gamefreak is working on a technical demo for release, which will have essential controls such as walking, lifting, pushing, and text.
Thank you all for staying with us as we attempt such a large goal.
