Hey guys, you know what used to be great fun? When groups of us would gather together online and make crappy games in anywhere from 24 minutes to an hour. We should do this again. It's been years since the last one.
That is all.

I agree, and I think it should be a game about making bad games.
If you put a million monkeys at a million keyboards, one of them will eventually write a Java program.
The rest of them will write Perl programs.

Nice idea. Count me in for this!
I'd prefer to use IRC rather than ClickConverse if it's being coordinated via a chat. Just a personal preference.

I'll probably spend that hour drawing one sprite

Can this be a game like that one with mario where he can eat a 'wrong' mushroom?

Then you probably should aim to draw something more basic.

Do it in a Google+ Hangout on Air. That'd make it easy for everyone to work together.

I've just made a news post about this topic. I've done some fleshing out of this idea. I think that if we get enough participants, we could have everyone split into teams and each team does their own Google+ Hangout On Air so that they can work with each other for the hour or however long. We do them On Air both so that others can spectate on the team working, and so that they get uploaded to YouTube afterwards for posterity (of course we don't have to do them that way if that makes anyone uncomfortable.) Afterwards, we'd have judges check out the products of each team and crown a winner. Not sure what the prize would be though.
Of course, others can come up with ideas too.

Quite interested, but a bit of clarification on the rules:
Getting samples and music takes time - are you allowed to make preparations by having a collection of sounds to start with?
I'm tempted, and also tempted to video myself making this to prove I havent cheated
