So just a small experiment, but I created a create-games page on facebook, were you can find weekly updates from this website. All the links will bring you into the site but it might be handy to keep yourself updated and a great way to invite non-community- people into the website that are interested in games and creating games.
I will keep updating the facebook page for the next month once per week to avoid clutter, and depending if its popular or not I will continue on with it. What do you think, good idea, bad idea, worst idea ever? Let me know
I'm staying even farther away from Facebook then I usually do, until I stop hearing rumors from all my friends, about a virus destroying computers. Three of them have already completely stopped coming online anymore, all from similar crashes.
theres nothing wrong with facebook. i havent had a virus in over a year and i dont run any virus software while on the internet. and the software i do run every so often never finds anything and my computer runs fine.
i always say it and i always will. DONT CLICK ON ADS! not even from the most trusted of sites.
and dont do anything you arent supposed to be doing on the internet. with all the virus protection and malware prevention software 9/10 its your own damn fault if you get a virus.
Hey, I'm with everyone who can honestly say that the internet is not as virus prone as all the idiots who get viruses, say it is... I'm merely stating that such rumors are giving me good reason to stay away from a site that already does a good job at annoying me. I have an account, they banned my account for absolutely no good reason at all, then I gave it a second chance and made a new account, and now the only reason I keep it is so my friends can have me on their list.
hey at least its better than myspace. im not sure how facebook annoys you. anything that annoys you you can pretty much turn off or modify or delete. the only thing that annoys me is that they keep changing the site layout. if you got banned/deleted it was probably computer error.
dont stay on a site just to please your friends. if you arent going to use it it would be like not having at all anyway.
Bleh, I hated myspace. It had adds all over the place, and people would make horrible profiles:
dark, unreadable text over a background that are the same color as the text, while playing music i don't want to hear.
*edit
but then again, Myspace is how i found out about TDC. Some guy in the games factory group told us a bout it.
Rikus, i think it's a great idea! The more we expose ourselves (oo-err!), the more members we'll attract - and you're doing your damnist to try, so kudos! Metropolis Street Racer style!
I actually prefer Myspace over Facebook, largely because everyone I know is on Myspace and simply because Facebook just feels more locked down and pumped with transitional steroids. I don't know/care though. To each his own.
