In February 2007, I participated in a 3-week competition over at Retro Remakes (http://www.retroremakes.com ) and "A Mini Falafel Adventure" was my entry. The aim of the competition was to create a game based on the T1 Calculator. This means: 4 colours, greyscale, 160*100 resolution and a general retro theme.
The game is a single-screen platformer with an emphasis on exploration, gameplay progression, and disco music. I used an array level loader because that seems to be what all the cool kids are doing these days.
It's not a particularly long game, to say the least; about 10-15 minutes if you're playing it for the first time and 5 minutes if you know what to do.
If you die, you go back to the title screen. In retrospect, I probably should have added a restart point after the sub-boss, but on the other hand I'm also of the opinion that modern games spoon-feed us save points every ten seconds. However, it won't take you long to get back to where you were since it's not a large game.
The music is by Reed Richards (http://reed.cc ) and is used with permission.
If you like this game, check out Hatman (Bibin) and Zan-Zan (Ben)
