Hey this was actually pretty cool, I'd say you're off to a good start with this Metroid II inspired game. One thing that I would change though is the shoot key. Instead of 'X', make it 'Z' since it's right next to 'SHIFT' which is the jump button. Other than that, it's looking great so far. I'm looking forward to it.
