Random screenshotness
Just thought I'd drop by a screenshot with a collage of all the units and capturables in the game (except for the factory) so far.

Test game in Arcade mode
My cousin, HHH, visited me again yesterday, and we played a game with the new Arcade game mode. We agreed it may indeed be a better setup than the original 'Tactical' mode. The game was over in... maybe 3 hours or so, which is half the time of the game we last played with Tactical mode. This time the game actually ended, with HHH capturing my Factory. Yes, I lost again... Stop laughing! ;F

It was a fun game though. I had a pretty good start, as I ganged up on HHH's lone combat tanks with my APC's, with flamethrower unlocked for most. HHH countered by starting to build gunships, and took the upper gold mines that I only had a mining drone watching over. That's probably where I made the mistake. I could've started to save gold to unlock launchers and get anti-air missiles for them, but instead I decided to build some more APC's. I did manage to surprise one of HHH's gunships and down it with the APC weaponry, but after that things pretty much went downhill for me. Also, just to be clear, my luck with crate drops was horrible. Boobytraps most of them, and others basically useless, like repair for a unit that was already at full HP. Not that HHH got many crates, but some gold and repairs when needed.
Capturables were spread evenly, despite randomization. None of them were really taken advantage of though.

In the end, aside from couple of weapon tweaks, there was nothing fix-worthy in the game. No notable bugs were encountered.

Project status
Still hoping to make the first release of the game by the end of the month. I'm still accepting two new testers, since no one responded in the last devlog. Leave a reply or send a pm or email if you're up for some testing during the next couple of weeks. Preferably with a friend, so the unit and weapon balance can be tested in a genuine 1vs1 scenario.

Just release a demo already - I wanna play.

Since you're so eager to play, why not do some beta testing?

The sooner I get help with that, the sooner I feel confident to make the game public. And I sure would like to get there this month. Aside from winner announcement and couple of capturables, the current version has all the content intended for the first release.

Sure Send me a link, and I'll test it (although possibly not against other people - is it online, or only hotseat?)

Hotseat only. Online will come later, once I've learned what makes lacewing tick. ;P Doesn't seem too complicated, though, but it's still ways away for sure.

In any case, ideally I would want 1vs1 testing, but I'll accept any feedback I can get.

I'll send you a pm in a moment.

Is your cousin the wrestler, Triple H??

I was hoping this'd be finished on my birthday. Ahh well. May 11, some other event.

That reminds me, I am 15

Well, happy b-day regardless.

Good news too. The game has been improved further, thanks to some extensive feedback from Sketchy, and I even decided to do the damn level editor already. The levels don't load in game yet (haven't set the code up yet), but otherwise it's functioning. I just recreated the original level using the editor. Can't believe I managed to make the editor so easily, considering it's my first one. Yay.
