First, thanks to Rikus for the news article feature thingy. I hope no one got the idea that the project is nearing completion though. There's only one full level done, and I've still got skills and items to finish before I start adding more.

More screenshots
I suck at being secretive, so I might as well post some more proof of the project.

Screenshot descriptions as follows:

1.
Character profile page. This is where you can distribute skill points earned from leveling up on six different attributes. Strength adds melee attack, toughness defense and max HP, agility running speed and jump strength, intelligence healing and operating machines, weapons ranged and special attacks, luck the quantity (and possibly quality) of loot. The stars on the grid denote learnable skills or bonuses that either provide a permanent boost, or a special effect under specific circumstances. The artwork is not coloured yet, as you can probably notice.

2.
Inventory screen, and a view of the main character MiSha. Yes, she does have a fairly voluptous figure in certain places. I designed the character years ago, and was not intending her to be a game character. I did the sprites of her out of curiosity, which sparked my interest towards an actual game. Anyways, the inventory is based on the 'collect them all' mindset, with each item having its own slot, so exploration enthusiasts are going to enjoy trying to find every single rare equipment in the game. The bonuses at the bottom right show the overall strength of attacks and defense, plus movement stats. The reason I'm showing only a few inventory items is obviously to keep most of 'em secret.

3.
MiSha finds a fridge with... mushrooms inside. O.o Food in The Bubble are both a healing item, and a trade currency at a special location. There's a better item for healing though, so you don't need to consume food every time you need healing, but it's there as a backup solution.

4.
Accessories show up on MiSha when worn. (I partially hate myself for deciding to sprite them all. It's so friggin' much work. >_< As seen here, she's wearing a white coat, dark gloves and a different pair of shoes. What bonuses those items grant shall remain a secret for now. The wasp was dead two frames later, btw.

5.
Just showing a different melee weapon, a piece of pipe. The enemy she's hitting is a Gunner Drone. Think of an RC car with a pistol and motion detector on it, haha. The attack animation is the same for all weapons at this time, but I'm considering adding a couple of specials, even though I tread the idea of additional spriting it will require for both the character and the accessories.

6.
Here's one of my favorite special weapons, molotov cocktails, in action. Not only do they damage enemies, they also set them on fire for more damage! Including MiSha of course, so you have to be careful with them. Some enemies, such as machines, don't take damage from fire.

7.
And last but not least, level up sequence. She's saying sorry to the enemy she just had to eliminate. MiSha is generally not the action hero type, so she tends to feel sorry for things she has to do to advance. She only says things every now and then though, so you don't need to worry about having to listen to her all the time. I might even add an option to disable the extra dialogue. And fine, yes, I cheated the level up with a special level up key I have for testing purposes. ;P

There, I hope that's enough to show that work has been done. I'd totally love to show a few of the special items but I just gotta keep 'em a secret for now.

Nice - loving this project... one the movement stats, the up and forward arrows are obviously speed and jump (as you've got the +3% and +5% noted on the profile screen)... but what does the down arrow symbolise?

Asholay:

The down arrow symbolizes gravity, and there are some funky accessories that reduce it, allowing higher and lighter jumps.

I've had other people wondering about the down arrow icon too, so I'll probably think of something else for that one. On the other hand, it's kind of neat to have a mysterious stat that you can't seem to figure out or alter in early game. The gravity affecting items are rare stuff, so you might casually play through the game the first time and miss them. I recommend high Luck attribute to ensure maximum loot. lol.
