Hardware Acceleration!
Posted 12th Sep 09, by MongMaster
ULSG is in the process of getting a boost with hardware acceleration! Yeah, I know, the Build 249 patch has probably been out for ages. I'm not really with the times.
I tried out a really early hardware acceleration beta a long time ago, and it didn't work very well... so I ended up uninstalling it and completely forgetting about its existence. I just remembered it yesterday, after wondering why FRAPS wasn't letting me record my game.

The hardware acceleration works pretty well, not many problems, just need to fiddle with a few things to get them to work in the way I want them to. I also played Mecha the Slag's "No More Plumbers" (loved it, BTW ), and noticed all the pretty shader effects. I'll have to poke the shaders with a stick at some point, and see what I can do.

As for updates, I can say that the 6th Master Achievement, "Ultimate Pacifism", works perfectly. Here's a vid that I made earlier.

You unlock the right to earn that Master Achievement by getting every Achievement in the Cillit Bang Challenge! Slightly tricky, but for 600 AP, it should be.

Oh ya, and as promised, a vid of the B.O.B Drone.

I also noticed that the Intergalactic Mall looked a bit... y'know... boring? It was as if nothing was going on... which was technically true. So, I fixed that!

Made the windows transparent, and added a nifty starfield in the background. Simple effect, methinks, but effective. The screenshot doesn't do it justice - I think it looks pretty cool when it's moving.

Haven't done any other new updates just yet, but I'm workin' on 'em! I've moved into my student accomodation at Uni, you see, so I've been spending most of my time settling in and stuff.

Will start some work now. Super Special modules, here I come!

Nice, although I think bobs walls can take abit too much damage.

I actually changed the health of B.O.B's walls after I posted this entry, hehe. They were a bit TOO tough.
