An extremly small reasion that effects you so much. The main reasion you shouldnt expect DC to be the place you get the most customers. Simplly because everyone here thinks they can make there own copy of the game, but better or they just feel that all you are doing is trying to impress other people. Regardless to the fact that every once in a blue moon we have game's werth selling, games such as Enternal Daughter, but where I am comming from is, almost everyone here at DailyClick can make games, so what is stopping them from remaking your game, insted of buying it or making it over, & giving it out for free, to avoid you from making sells. Not grant it people here are that rude, but its because of these simple reasions, why advertising selling games on DC is not a good idea.

Uh... perhaps you should think for a while before you rant on something. I'm sure there's a point there, but I can't find it.

There's nothing wrong with advertising your games, provided you approach things the right way and it's something worth buying. You know, the kind of thing people are working on for years. You couldn't just go out and duplicate something like, say, Terminal Orbit, and apart from that where's the fun in playing your own game?

For once I agree with Dustin G.

Klik uh.. technology, or whatever it's called is getting better. Back in the KNP days, a game would be considered VERY good if it used its own gfx and was actually finished(remember Trigger Happy/Destruction Carnival?). These days, any game fits that criteria.

Soon enough, many klik games will be marketable. Personally, I'd love to see it happen, considering how most klikers are gamers themselves and I've seen LOTS of commercial crap out there getting tons of buyers *cough*Disney*cough just because they use a mainstream formula.

There's nothing wrong with it, as long as you are not expecting sales from TDC alone. People on TDC will not purchase your game, but if you list it as shareware here just to let people know what you are up to then that's fine.

Id say the point is true that advertising to sell your game on tdc is a bad idea, but the reason i came up with is that people come here looking for FREE games and there are a lot of them to choose from.

why buy a game when you can download hundreds for free?

Well, I'd rather buy one awesome game than download 100 free crap ones.

I doubt there are even a hundred "awesome" games on this site. Most are pretty bad, there's only about five or ten games that I actually enjoyed playing.

its no loss if you download a rubbish game for free except mabye a little time if you sit and watch it downloading.
besides there are reviews to show what games are good or not.

Well that's true. It's not as if we don't get our moneys worth.

I'm just saying it wouldn't hurt if the standards were a little higher.

it makes me laugh when people have a go because you use music that wasnt made by you. i say music because its a little different than graphics, to me music requires a lot more skill - but thats just me... some guy PMed me a long time ago saying "i heard that song somewhere before. you suck make your own music" blah blah... but its like most people here make games on thier own. and not everyone can make everything in a game. some people are skilled at graphics but suck at music, obviously people like that exist. so back when i first joined i remember people in teams saying to me "oh you have to do it like this" which pissed me off because i do things my way. and they have people in thier teams who CAN make music and each person can do their own thing.

theres a point somewhere in there. im really aiming to get a point across that people who work alone should be cut some slack.

im never going to sell a game made by myself. maybe if it was a huge project in a massive team with every feature under the sun. but im not greedy, id rather have a million people play my game than a few hundred adults with credit cards. i prefare reach and accesibilty to getting a few quid in my pocket. for me MMF will always be a hobby and not a career.

this is probably my biggest post ever, by the way.

Lets face it, more then 80% of the games here at DC are not quality, but because they are free, they are the perfect excuse for people to complain about how bad a game that is for sell here at DC is!
