a platform car racing game with gravity as realistic as possible... like the warthog in halo or something. or adjustable gravity, so if you hit a slope you go x feet in the air depending on your speed and the current gravity. t'would be a great test of coding skill for all those non-graphicy persons.
Yeah, I agree with Shen. It should be "Make the best game you can that features realistic physics." It would be much better than the usual old "Make a game based on this theme..." because it involves the actual design and coding of the game rather than its graphical appearance. It might exclude newbies, but any competition will be weighted towards those with more experience, so why not have one specifically geared towards them for once?
Assuming this is what the competition will be about, just make sure that at least one of the judges knows a thing or two about physics...

yeah, "realistic physics" is a better kind of arena for a comp than "realistic vehicle physics", i agree. oh btw, generally, competitions aren't usually designed for the inexperienced. they're a test for the more experienced members of a group. newer people can still see what's going on and learn a great deal from it, mind.
