Oh yeah, doom, castle wolfenstien, and then there was those 3D horror games, where you run around in a mansion and scary dudes come out and you use lame weps on them, I forget the names but its just like wolfenstien with no guns. Another type of 2D wich is very awsome is games like Day of the Tentacle, Roger Wilco, Full Throttle, Sam and Max, the 'point and click adventure' type. I like 3D games, but you must apreciate 2D.

Was that The 7th Guest or The 11th Hour, Rycon? Or maybe The Legacy...

Doom and Wolfenstein were Mode7 games, which is based on 2D graphics with bumped up planes (as seen with the Mode7 Ex object)

Wolfenstein was, certainly, but wasn't Doom more advanced? It could have multiple floor levels, where previously pseudo-3D games couldn't.

Let me find Doom and try playing it again. ><

Hard for me to play those games, though, because the graphics made me dizzy and all.

It doesn't help that in Doom the view bobs up and down as if the main character's overdone it on the drink.

Well, they need to make it as realistic as they can make it look, after all! But after Doom they replaced the realistic bobbing up and down with a realistic bobbing left and right of the weapon. What they need to do now with the next generation of first person shooter games is take out all the bobbing up and down and left and rights and put in a bobbing back and forward, in and outting type of thing. That'd make people feel light headed for sure!

Super Mario Land for the GameBoy Original? The one with the super bouncey balls?

I'm trying to find a copy or my copy of that game so I can beat it again.

Games like Doom are cool, but, I think, they get boring after a while. And I think one of the charms
of old-school games are that they are so unrealistic.

By the way...Did anyone ever play Monster Bash by Apogee? That game was really cool!
