Hello,

is there a way to strip/rip graphics out of the games that are released here, not to reuse it but to learn more about how animations are made.

I could go the long way and take screendump of all frames but there might be an easier way, or not?

Your best bet'll probably be to ask the authors to maybe give you a .gam/.cca file that has only a couple of characters you requested from him. That way you can look at the anims, and at the same time won't have a the whole game ... though, i'm sure there are guides, either in the form of articles on this site, or other kinds you could search for on google to help you do animations.
Another thing you could do is if you were making a walking animation: Walk around a few times and carefully pay attention to how you do it, and then try to adopt that into an animation etc.etc.

Most authors will probably resent you ripping graphics, even if its just to learn from them, without their permission.

Animations like in that Iron Boot game interest me

I find it's useful to take a bunch of screendumps from SNES emus and observe them. For example, in Megaman games, the characters star straight-kneed for the most part, and the arms are held crooked as they swing alternate to the legs. The character is hunched foward, and the animation for when the legs are fully spread is held twice as long as when stepping foward.

Oh there is a way of ripping data out of TGF files. It just hasn't been built yet (and probably won't be, lol).

The best bet is Eviscerator's suggestion to email the authors. Most will be quite happy to send you one or two sprites in unprotected .gams, and a few may even give you some helpful hints too.

it is very possible, but for now, let's pretend it's not

Lol, yeah. I certainly wouldn't want to make such a system, although I know some who would. Ethics have to play a part sometimes in whether a system should be made or not, and to be honest it's not worth it. You'd need a failsafe system of making sure the user was the creator of the game, and such a system simply doesn't exist.
