Sure you can make it impossible to cheat, as long as you don't let people get up to go to the bathroom. Or you can put security cameras in the bathrooms.......

IMHO, there's nothing at all wrong with cheating. The only reason tests exist is to test your skills. And in real life, the resourcefulness (like getting info when it's not where you'd like it to be) is just as important, if not more important as memorizing facts.

There's also the matter like when exams here aren't even done right. They test only the student's memorization capabilities and how good the students are at following orders. And there's even some examiners who just give marks depending on how neat your handwriting is.

So, IMHO, cheating helps make up for the inadequacies of the educational system. Now if they made the exams based purely on skills, instead of simple hard work, I'd shun cheating. But as it is, it's the easiest path, and by no means the wrong one. The morality of cheating is different for every different education system.

Cheating in games is a different thing. It's opposite of everything that cheating in real life stands for. It makes the game boring, it makes you lack skills, and well, you really don't get a thing from it.

Yeah, I'm a master at it and for some reason, I've never been caught. I even managed to hide an entire book under my shirt during the trial exams. I find it more of a thrill. But then again, I'm the type of person who wouldn't mind losing in life and living in a dumpster, unlike most of you...

Did I mention that, due to an unfortunate incident with a whole can of AriZona green tea (thats two regular cans' worth) I actually pleaded the SAT supervisor to let me go to the bathroom.. not once, but three times, all through the test.

Tell me that isnt against the rules. Then again, its worse to piss your pants during an SAT. So yeah.

As for whether its "right" or not, of course its not right to cheat. Who ever said it was? We're just saying we can, and do.

I actually Quite Agree with Muz on a few of his Points.
Cheating is Isnt right, although in some cases it isnt Wrong.
All tests Leading upto the Year 12 & HSC (or whatever its called in America) Dont matter. they dont depend on whether your going to get a Good Job or Not, Year 12 Depends.
they lead you upto it, but do you really need to Know some of the Crap you are Taught? i mean really.
I myself have cheated a few times in Tests, only Maths though.

Also Cheating can be quite easy if you have a good enough plan.
If i was to cheat i think i could get away with it.
----Maths Exam-----
If you were in one of those tests and you werent sitting near anyone close enough to read there Papers.
there is still a soloution.
At the start of the test when the Test Papers are handed out by the teacher fold one up and slip it in your Pocket, then ask for another one saying you didnt receive one.
Then Before the test starts ask if you could go out to the toilet. take the test you slipped into your Pocket and your Maths Text book down to the toilets.
when you come back you switch the papers around.
------------------
that was a 3 min plan i just whipped up, although probably it has many flaws.
there is a way to get around anything.
although i myself havent done this. and i probably would never do it.
I myself want to do something with the Computer Industry either Web Design or Programming. but really do i need to know most of the shit learnt at school?

No, but many people don't know what job they will get in the future. Thats why you are taught such a wide variety of things.

Actually, I told a lie. I did sort of cheat once, in a Spanish speaking test. My keywords (to prompt me when I forgot my script), we're on the back of the actual script. Guess what happened? Half-way through, I forgot and seeing as no one else was in the room, and the examiners would never know, I flipped the paper round and read the rest of that paragraph. But I swear I read all of the other paragraphs without help.

I got a C for that and another test combined, and I was one point above the cut-off mark. But I do not feel guilty or anything like that, because I got C's on every other paper, and coming up is my coursework which I can get an A* on because coursework doesn't have tiers (I was doing foundation level for the previous speaking test).

It just goes to show how lax the teachers are. They send you from your classroom, and expect you to come back 5 minutes later with your tape. You could do anything it that time!

I think the education system needs reform. I think people need to stop cheating. I think all tests should be 100% written. If I was a teacher thats the way it would be. One of the teachers in my school does 100% essay tests and...well, thats awesome in my opinion.

I do think teachers don't always know what there doing, but then again neither do students.

Cheating is not a harmless activity. The people who WANT to succeed using the system have a harder time when you Cheat it.

And...then there Karma too.
