First thing you do would be find the zip files on your computer and check their size. Assuming they're full size, login to geocities, go to "easy upload" and select your zip file. It should then upload it, but may take a while unless you have a broadband connection.(Cable, dsl, etc.)
Make sure your zip file is is lower case letters.(game1.zip instead of Game1.zip, etc.)

The next thing to do would be make a page and put a link to the file on it.

If the file is 1kb on your computer, enable "classic" version of winzip. Then find the files you want to add to it. Now, DRAG them into it, and it should work.

Make sure your not going over the size limit geocities has. No matter what connection you have, it could take a long time cause of the server speed. I suggest uploading and go get somthing to eat.

Yep, Geocities has a size limit, though I cant remember what it is.

WinZIP is dodgy, if you have WindowsXP use the built-in compressor by right-clicking on your file(s) and selecting Send To → Compressed (Zipped) Folder.

To the best of my knowledge...cause I have a Geocities account...I can upload zip files up to the size of 5 megs and have 15 megs of webspace all up, so you should be fine.

Make sure your not uploading a link to your file though

Geocities downloads fast! I usually get a download rate of over 160kb/sec.

The only problem is there have a limit..(5mb?) If over that limit is downloaded they stop allowing new downloads to commence for about 10 minutes.

Im just talking about the upload speed, not the download speed.

I have ADSL. What that means is while I download at rates of up to 180kb/sec, I upload at rates of up to 60kb/sec

It's lots slower uploading...spaceports is good? I'll have to take a look at it...

My main problem is a download bug I have.....but maybe it's gone away? I have reinstalled windows over 2 times since I last checked, and 5+ times since it started...maybe one of the win98 versions is a good one?
