Show me the power child,
I'd like to say,
That I'm down on my knees today,
Gives me the butterflies,
Gives me away,
'Til I'm up on my feet again,
I'm feeling outshined.

"Why are there so many threads based on what music people like?" < people are waiting in bushes to leap out and say "UR MUSIC SUX!". Or maybe they're just curious (and don't like the search thingy)

Music's a major passion of mine so I always wander into these sorts of threads. I'm guessing the people that make these topics are the same. My favourite music genres are black metal and hard rock. My favourite bands are Marilyn Manson and Cradle Of Filth, although I do enjoy melodic music (but generally only when it's done by a normally heavy band, such as System Of A Down's Roulette or Slipknot's Vermillion Part 2, because the lyrics are generally better).

Kris: It's funny how that very rarely happens. Perhaps it should be 'What's your favourite Christian rock group', or 'Which female solo artists do you like'... you might get Dogzer telling us he's a Japanese J-Pop singer :|

You listen to some good music Necro. I see Pink, Led Zep, Jimi Hendrix, ect. (Your avatar is too damn fast) Same kind of music I listen to.

Anyone seen Pink Floyd's The Wall, great film, I'd recommend it to anyone who likes his music, obviously, since my cousin didn't understand any of the film and said can we watch Bad Boys 2 instead since this is shit? I threw the dvd box at his face, luckily he didn't bleed.

I'm not a fan of bads that claasify their genre, as it limits their musical potential. I prefer the more experimental bands, such as Blur and artists such as Badly Drawn Boy. Some other bands/Artists I like:

The Sex Pistols, The Clash, The Ramones, The Beatles, The Whitlams, The Kinks, David Bowie, Frank Sinatra, Mint Royale, Blink 182(completely out of place? hell yeah!) and many others that I cannot remember at this point in time.

nova, rapping takes more talent than you might think... not in the sense of playing an instrument but finding words that not only rhyme but make sense and pass a message across (this excludes crappy 'bling bling' rappers like 50 cent, j-kwon, etc etc). This is probably why Tupac was so successful (and if you nobody believes me, have a look at the lyrics to 'Changes'). Trance, techno, dance, etc aren't "listen to at home" genres because they're made to be played in clubs. Most Rnb is crappy (ashanti, j-lo) but R Kelly (who most people would say is an RNB artist) has one of the best singing voices in the world (Listen to 'the world's greatest' and 'I believe I can fly') I agree about pop though. Rachel stevens is like a barbie doll...

As a boy, I wanted to be a train. I didn’t realize this was unusual—that other kids played with trains, not as them.
