At least with the old systems people would all agree that was good and was bad.
I think there should be an option when posting a game to opt out of ratings, similar to how YouTube does. Of course you don't get any 5 star ratings either but you can't both have the cake and eat it.

Phredreeke, though i would almost certainly never opt out of it, i think your idea is a pretty good one
Have to say though, i don't worry too much about the scores/ratings games get on here as a whole since i only tend to judge a game after playing it myself.
