I'm 100% positive that I had 700 DC points the other day, but for one reason or another, I lost 25 points. I didn't notice the change until sometime after I uploaded my first project. The DC store says that I have only spent 500 points so far (which is correct, since that's the cost of VIP membership), so I couldn't have accidentally bought something.

Is there currently any way to lose points except from buying stuff? ^^;;

a project is worth 25 points.

theres possibly something screwey with the points system that DEDUCTED you 25 points rather than gave you 25 points. id contact flava or clubsoft about that.

Ah, I gotcha.

Now that I think about it, is it possible to lose points if you delete one of your old projects? I remember deleting Astro Dude earlier today in my list of projects, and since uploading a project gives you 25 points, deleting one of your projects could take the same 25 points away. I can't remember if I started that particular project before the point system was created though...

I matters not, I deleted a piece of old abandonware I had up, from years ago, and it got rid of shitload of points.

Deleting things will deduct points, this is to stop someone posting, say, 10 projects with nothing in them, then deleting them to keep the points

Points were recalculated when the new system was brought in, so even old submissions will have given you points to begin with - deleting those will remove those points, in theory if you deleted everything you'd go back down to 0

Aaah, I gotcha. That would explain why I already had so many points to begin with even though I hadn't been to the DC in quite some time.

I think when someone favorites your project, you should get 10 DC points

Except each post gives you a point.

If you were the ultimate game maker and had 14 projects that everyone loved and you could suitably update then you'd have so many points. Time to go make 14 games...

That could lead to some Facebook-style alliances. "Favorite my game, and I'll favorite yours." But other than that, I don't see much trouble with it. Games getting favorited should get like twice as many points

I think it's that way already. IMO I think faved downloads and projects should remain anon. But faved project updates are still mentioned in the sidebar so people can keep track.
