I'm a bit behind--and the feed is frozen. I came in during the FF video and rewound back to the beginning. They're showing the Tony Hawk commercial now. Or at least they were, before the stream died. :S
L4D2; NO. I don't understand why they're releasing a sequel a year after the original. It's so very un-Valve. Maybe it's a way to get around their image of giving out free DLC... Just release paid for games using the same engine and resources
That's what I was thinking. Am I the only one who doesn't like the idea of eliminating the controller? I mean sure there are cool applications, but there are only so many things you can do with that control scheme. It looks rather unexact and contrived to me. :\
Whoawhoawhoa "all hit franchises?" Helloo? Mario? Zelda? Sly Cooper? Some... other... hit Sony series?
I've got little hope for this camera dowhacky. It may look all impressive and stuff on stage and in a controlled environment but FLY BUZZES ACROSS THE CAMERA- You purchased 1600 XBLA points*. And also what if you play all cinematically in a dark room? Nah. But wow Microsoft has put on such a show, going to be hard for the others to top this.
Well it's cool, but it's really overhyped I think. Looks tiring too. I think they should have stuck with cool games instead of trying to make themselves look all innovatey by focusing on something that honestly doesn't look as fantastic as they make it out to be. That paint thing is neat, but you'd tire of it in ten minutes. This is kind of like Nintendo's showing last year, except motionplus is something that should have been integrated from the start. I'm hoping Nintendo focuses on awesome games this year and cuts the boasting. Be humble!
I actually think its good that they are trying to do something new, just instead of new games for a old series.
But this motion thing have been done a couple times before, and never really took off.
If they CAN do it right though, I can see some amazing games.
(Some shooters, or a new elder scrolls game)
Thats an 'IF' though..
Your just jealous that you're not as awesome as me.
(And my megaman avatar )
I wouldn't be surprised if the Natal thing never makes it to market to be honest - at least for the 360 anyway (maybe the next generation Xbox). The fact they gave it a "code name" and showed no real games for it shows that it must be pretty early in development. The marketing video they showed for it was clearly not how it works at the moment. It just seems like a lot of work to me - the Mylo thing was cool and all, but how would it work in an actual game? Surely it's going to be 1-2 years until we actually get to play with this thing.
Biggest surprises of the conference for me:
+ Actual Alan Wake footage (finally) which was mind blowing
+ Metal Gear Solid: Rising on 360 (kind of expected though)
+ Left 4 Dead 2 (pretty gutted about this - Valve normally support their games for longer)
