Greetings. In the near future I'll be making an project page for my game. But before that I thought it would be good to leave how to make teaser videos. A lot of them I've been have youtub watermarks on them. Is that the only way to make them, going though them? Any tips would be helpful, thanks.

Yes, the only way to add videos to your project page is to upload them to YouTube first. If you're asking how to record the videos, then you need software like Hypercam, Frontcam, Camtasia, Fraps, etc.

No, there are other ways to upload videos. Some web hosting services let you use a video applet that doesn't put a watermark on it. But the youtube watermark is really no big deal.

As for the capture software, definitely go with BSR screen recorder. http://www.thesilver.net/ Best of the bunch. If you don't like the little BSR watermark it puts on the videos, you can put your own over it in Windows Movie Maker. (And I think, actually, you may be able to disable it... >_O)

By the way, the yotube watermark isn't really a watermark. It' just a little image superimposed over the vid. If you download the source flv, there's no watermark.

I swear by Camstudio:
http://camstudio.org/

It produces videos that are small file sizes with good resolution, often pixel perfect, and works perfectly at capturing sound & music from .wav, .midi, .mp3, etc.

I've never tried camstudio, it is probably better than BSR for all I know, but if camstudio lags on you, be sure to try BSR next because it works almost pixel perfect as well and it seems to do better on slightly older computers. I've had two people switch and they seemed to think it worked better for them.

Hooray for BSR!

Which reminds me about a video I was making... <.< I should probably finish that...

Also if you have a video but it's the wrong type, Prism Video Converter = Mighty fine!

Camstudio is only good for recording your games if you either don't have Windows Vista or you don't have MMF2 HWA. If you have either of those, screw Camstudio and go use Fraps. I kid you not, Camstudio will get you 15 or less frames per second where Fraps will actually hit it's frame cap of 60fps and the picture isn't good, it's flawless, same with sound.

Camtasia, much better than the others. Open it up for the first time and it's intuitive enough to do anything without a guide, and the end result is always smooth and delicious.

Loves cute animals.
