Hey!
I'm trying to download some games and projects but none of the downloads work on the daily click so I'm wondering if there is any other place where I can find click games and projects?

It kinda feels like the click community is shrinking, it used to be such a fun place now there's just a handfull of users on the forum and only ONE active click community.. What has happened? Is the interest in making games gone?

Thanks
~B

Thems have games and links and stuff. Natomic died (IIRC). And theres a new rating system at TDC so many old, higher ranked games need to be hunted in the downloads section.

Haha I did that. Went in for multimedia and just ended up making my final end-of-year projects all MMF games.

That's hilarious. I can't decide whether to do game design or programming.

Game designing covers all areas of it:
Level designs, character designs, story development, etc etc

Game programming probably skims over this, but focuses mainly on using C++ or similar to create programs.

Most of the first year will be simple programming, and how to create effects like paralax scrolling.

I know at one uni I looked at years ago when i was thinking about it (when my brother was applying for uni) I went there and they didnt do any real independent game development until the third year of the course.
But I did recommend MMF to the tutor, whether he actually followed up on it or not I don't know.

Cool. Question: game programmers have to do what the game designer decides 100%, right? I love computer stuff, but I think I could work better if I could concentrate solely on designing. That said... I don't really think I want/need the official way of designing games, I like to have off-kilter stuff. Meh, getting off topic...

topic has been changed: discussion on game design/programming

thats tricky. i love programming, but i don't wanna be told what to do or how to do it by game design team or something.
but churning stuff out as a one man show is time consuming and hard work. grr.

See, that's my trouble. I think I would like under the hood stuff, but I wouldn't want to take orders and multiman projects are more fun. What are some good colleges for game design? (I'd like experience answers, if possible. We've all seen ads.

i wouldnt know. im going to a local university in california. california state university of fullerton (CSUF).
im majoring in computer science so i have options to do what i want. i havent gotten to the point where i need to decide what route of computer science i want to take, albeit software development, game design, game programming, networking, etc.

i've heard a lot about full sail tho. for a time thats where i wanted to go.

Well, Ohio is a long way from Californ-I-A. So you can take general computer sciences and decide later?

yeah. low level classes are generic introduction to programming courses (cpsc-120 cpsc-121 cpsc-131). then you when you get to high level classes you can do more specific things. the computer science major has like 5 specific tracks you do. or you can custom your own.

Actually very helpful. Thank you very much. Now, when my company dominates the home console holodeck scene, you'll have a spot if you want one.

Fucking Hijackers! Thanks for the links Dr.James

Am I the only one who wants to be an artist? A life as a game designer involves way too much excel spreadsheets and frustration because the programmer goes "isn't technically possible".
