So my LifeBook S5582 is a great little machine with good battery life. The problem? The speakers refuse to work! From some testing I've done, I can deduce that it is not a driver issue, as audio comes out the headphone jack fine.

The headphone jack is very loose, however, so I think the switch that disables the internal speakers is broken. Also, once, when I removed my headphones, I heard a few milliseconds of speaker-based audio, so I think that is it.

Does anyone know any software-based solutions that convince the computer that there are no headphones inserted? If not, does anyone know how to remove the keyboard?

An old PocketPC of mine did this, rather than replace the never used headphone port I opened it up and cut the 2 metal bits off the port and all worked well.
But like you said it's just getting under the keyboard now
