Instead of making ANOTHER topic, I'll just ask this here:

Doesn't the BeatBox 3600 Elite come equiped with both component and HDMI leads? If so, which would providce the better quality?

You get Component and Composite cables free with an Xbox 360 yes , the Elite and all new Premium models have HDMI equipped. Though there is no difference in image quality at all, infact VGA is the best adapter since it bypasses all the copyprotection and all them legal areas and lets you watch upscaled DVD's.

RF < Composite < S-Video < RGB Scart < VGA=HDMI=DVI=Component

HDMI is the same as digital DVI except it carries audio as well and all HDMI receivers must support HDCP.
VGA is analog. Three wires are used for red, green and blue signals. Two are used for Horizontal and vertical sync. Using low linerates is not recommended with VGA.
DVI kan be either analog or digital. Analog DVI works like VGA.
Component has three cables, one for luminance+sync and one each for two color difference components.

There may be a difference in quality between HDMI and the analog signals if your tv has a poor A/D converter.
