i hav'nt checked it out yet but if its based on shen's article then you better modify it , mine and teapot's engine also used the same techniques and both of us got real bad kick outs! , specially me!

Nice engine Leighton Williams, but for the gravity I suggest using a fastloop. Makes him land nice and smooth. Nice sprites too!

Good work so far, i did find myself being sucked into a wall at one time and the animations keep stopping.
But it's not bad at all.

I think I'm falling for Circy too. Haha and Lazarus, I was going to say the exact same thing before I read your reply. It really does, I'd double check.

Umm, What do you mean, Kick outs?

I'm not very good at graphics, or programming for that matter.
also I'm not sure how hast loop works.
I like to keep things simple.

engine fine - no worries mate - but then others deem you worthy on the calibre of your engine! Your game idea can be crap but the engine reigns supreme.(that's what they think) Stick with this engine and now create an original idea for a game - good luck mate

Fastloop allows for pixel perfect collisions by moving objects only one pixel at a time. For example, say loop 1 is the loop that controls moving to the right. Then instead of x = x + 5, you would call loop 1 to run 5 times.
On loop 1 & right detector is overlapping obstacle: end loop 1.
On loop 1: set x = x+1.
