Is there anywhere on the internet I can find sound effects for my game? It is a space shooter, so all I need is lasers and explosions. A commentator screaming "NEXT WAVE!!" would be nice as well!

There are a number of free WAV archives available by searching Google, but be prepared for an ad-fest.

there are tons of sfx sites however you usually get pretty lame sounds from them. I usually have to edit them quite a bit.

If you have a mic you could make your own.

Yeah explosions are made by blowing real hard in the mic, lasers by generating a sound and bend it a bit.

True. I blew a lot in my microphone when I first had it and it sounded worse and worse. It took over a year before it worked well again.

there r lots of sites offering those ( for free ) ..
like www.a1freesoundeffects.com and www.partnersinrhyme.com

and if u like u can use a direct Audio search engine to find a specific sound effect , for e.g. Altavista Audio Search Engine ( http://www.altavista.com/audio/default )

I also tend to edit/mix/manipulate KNP/TGF/MMF library sounds in ModPlug. You can also make great retro sounds by playing around with square waves in ModPlug.
