Well it was released at a computer event in Tokyo. Tell us what you think:

It's quite similar to what I thought it would look like, however now that I see it it looks like it could be quite hard to control.

To me it seems to make alot easier, like aiming in FPS-games.

And how could you ever have had anything similar in mind?!

Oh don't worry about it, it's typical Nintendo. People who're like this really should be shot, I don't know why the Lord allows them to exist.

People who are driven more by the desire to be different, artistic or unique than any form of common sense or consideration for others. It was the downfall of the N64 (cartridges), the downfall of WindWaker ('Hey Arnold' spring to mind?), and will doubtless be the downfall of the Revolution.

I love the Zelda series, which is why I'm getting a cube when it comes out, but Nintendo themselves have been a steaming pile for years. They've lost all direction in their attempts to be unique and stopped actually giving users what they want. The concept that the designer knows better than the consumer exists in just two places - Nintendo's nerdery of rabies-infected designers, and the beggars of Whitehawk.

The latter don't have jobs (and for very good reason), and the former really really shouldn't.

I firmly believe Nintendo is Japanese for 'What the Hell were we Thinking?"

Not to start a big war, but I much rather something original.
Also, Dines I don't think "who're" is english. I believe that is a prostitute.

thinking is like pong, it's easy, but you miss sometimes.

At first glace it looks to me like one of those Atari controllers, The gamecube controller was quite good to play with but I still prefer the Playstation 1/2 controllers.

"still better than the PS1 and 2 controllers
dunno why"

because you're a Nintedno fanboy?

I think it looks a bit... meh. It could be a hit, but it'll all depend on the games and how they utilise this novelty. I can't imagine holding it for long periods of time will be very comfortable either. I guess I'll delay judgement until we can see it in action -- not that I'm planning on getting a Revolution anyway.

By the way, Liquixcat, "who're" is an acceptable contraction.

I really hope the controler works well. It looks simple, which is a nice deviation from the GC controller (everywhere you looked, there was a different button). But it's definitely bad for business, just like Windwaker was bad for business. It may be the best game/controller in the world, but if people look at it and think 'eww', then they will never try it, and hence never discover just how cool it really was.

Nintendo fanboys tend to say stuff like "well that's their loss", which is true... but it's also Nintendo's loss when they find their games aren't selling so well, and the fanboys' loss because Nintendo have less money to spend on new stuff.

This stuff so annoys me. Nintendo have invented many great things - I believe they pioneered the use of the D-pad, the joystick on a controler, shoulder buttons, the underside button (the 'Z-trigger'), virtually everything we see routinely in gaming. But nothing about this controller looks set to revolutionise gaming as we know it.

In my opinion they'd have been better off using something like the X-box's dual joystick system. That was a great feature!

It looks amazing, completely the opposite of what I was expecting, everyone assumed it would be a two-handed device. I like the idea of the add-ons like the analogue stick, that would be really good for FPS games, but also the pointing at the screen could be interesting for RTS games. This reminds me of the one-handed PS1 pad which came out around 1998 called the ASCII Grip.

The video really shows what it can do. You could basically slash the controller around like a sword to attack enemies. Or use the joystick to move and the controller to shoot in FPS games. It's also PERFECT for another WarioWare game

There is only 1 minor thing that bugs me though: How are you supposed to play 2D platformers on that thing? The controls don't look too comfortable for that, and I can't come up with a way to use the 3D move around thing to play them.

...I'd assume that for any old game that wouldn't fit with the new controller, you've always got the 4 GCN controller slots.
